When should you replace your HVAC system?

Most HVAC systems typically don’t last beyond 15 years. Whether you should replace some or all of your system depends on various factors, especially costs (energy efficiency and replacement costs). You should also consider manufacturer and dealer warranties for replacment parts and labor costs. Replacement can be an expensive under-taking but there have been times when we’ve provided a second opinion and found that a simpler and much less expensive solution was sufficient. Wear and tear happens differently from household to household, so the 15-year benchmark is just an estimate based on what is typical. Try to get a second opinion before you embark on a replacement project.
